Evening Star Farm will be offering Boer wethers with all the right stuff...
Evening Star Farm will have full-blood and percentage Boer Wethers in 2008. Birthdates will run from the end of December to around the beginning of June. At Evening Star Farm, wethers are not a "by-product" of the Boer goat breeding stock industry. Rather, they are a carefully managed enterprise. In fact, a great deal of care goes into selecting the breeding stock used to produce the wethers. We breed for strong top lines, long loins, powerful front ends, and the right amount of natural muscling and bone. We believe that healthy does produce healthy wethers, so the health of our does is a high priority to us. We also booster their vaccinations on a schedule that encourages strong passive immunities in the kids and then follow through with vaccinations for the kids in a timely manner. In addition, we work with the nutritional facet of our kids development. Our kids are on a creep-feed program from an early age. All wethers will be castrated and vaccinated against the clostridium diseases (C, D &T) and pneumonia. Most will be disbudded. We are proud of our wethers.
